About tennis
Tennis is one of ball sports. The effective tennis court is a rectangle with a length of 23.77 meters, a singles court with a width of 8.23 meters, and a doubles court with a width of 10.97 meters. There is a net in the middle of the game, and both sides of the game occupy one side of the court.
Tennis was conceived in France, born in Britain, and its popularity and formation culminated in the United States. It originated in France in the 12th-13th centuries. In the first modern Olympic Games held in Athens in 1896, men’s singles and doubles tennis were listed as official competitions. The highest level of tennis organization is the International Tennis Federation, which was established in Paris, France in 1913. The highest level organization in China is the China Tennis Association. Founded in Beijing in 1953.
History :
In the 12th to 13th centuries, tennis originated in France. At the time it was a kind of "play in the palm".
In 1873, under the inspiration of badminton, the British Major Winfield further improved the early tennis play, moved the general activities on the ground to the grass, and proposed a set of play that was closer to modern tennis.
In 1877, the All England Cricket Club held the first lawn tennis tournament at Wimbledon. The rules of the game drafted by the referee committee headed by Henry Joan are the basis of modern tennis rules. Rules such as position law are still in use today. In the same year, the first Wimbledon Tennis Open ignited at the Wimbledon headquarters in the western suburbs of London. It has a history of more than 100 years and is the earliest tennis match in modern tennis history.
In 1878, tennis not only increased doubles matches, but also increased the length of both sides of the court by 1.37 meters, and the line of serve was 6.4 meters from the net.
After 1878, lawn tennis was introduced to Canada, Sri Lanka, Czech Slovakia, Sweden, India, Japan, Australia, South Africa and even the world.
In 1881, the United States Lawn Tennis Association was established. And from August 31 to September 3 of the same year, the first American Lawn Tennis Championship was successfully held. In the same year, the first US Open was held in Newport, Rhode Island, USA.
In 1882, the height of the center of the net was changed to 0.914 meters, and the height of both ends was 1.07 meters.
In 1891, the first French Open was held in the stadium of Roland Garros in the west of Paris.

In 1900, the Davis Cup Tennis Open was held in Boston, USA.
In 1905, the Australian Open kicked off in Melbourne, 28 years later than Wimbledon Open, and it was the latest event among the four major tennis Opens.
On March 1, 1913, representatives of the tennis associations of 12 countries including the United Kingdom, France, and Australia held a meeting in Paris and established the International Tennis Federation, headquartered in London.
In 1984, at the Los Angeles Olympics, tennis was re-listed as an Olympic event.
